Step 1 - Register Your Search

Once you have registered your specific criteria, you will be able to browse at any time as we will keep you updated via email with suitable properties matching your criteria and SMS alerts.

Registering with bigmove, means we can update you with properties coming onto the market. All of our properties for sale will also be advertised with leading portals, including Rightmove, Zoopla and many others. To register call us on 020 8986 7373.

Step 2 - Renting Process

bigmove makes this process easy and smooth as you will be assisted through the letting process, where you will be given information and advice by one of our friendly dedicated lettings consultants who will be on hand to help throughout the process.

bigmove also manage many properties and there are advantages to renting a managed property as you will have peace of mind that your property is fully compliant with all safety regulations. Furthermore you will have a property consultant to handle any issues which may occur and you will have access to a 24-hour helpline for any emergency needs required.   

Step 3 – Viewing Properties

bigmove encourages you to view a property promptly, as the renting market is always competitive. We will accompany you throughout and will ensure you see a property within the quickest time frame. During viewings bigmove will be by your side to ensure you have all the information you require for the renting process and will answer any questions you may have. Furthermore to help you work around your busy schedule, we are also available for viewings in the evenings and 7 days a week.

Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 9am-7pm, on Fridays 9-6pm and on Saturdays 9-4pm.

Step 4 - Make an Offer

To secure a property contact bigmove immediately and we will guide you on how to proceed.  You will need to confirm your offer and highlight any requirements you may have and also provide references for all occupants moving into the property. We will then put forward your offer to the landlord and will confirm his response as soon as possible.

Step 5 – Offer Accepted

Once your offer is accepted, we will continue to be of assistance and will organise the following: 

  • Obtain references from your provided parties concerne


  • Prepare and arrange a Tenancy Agreement to be signed by all parties concerned


  • Take payment of both first month’s rent and deposit which is your overall move in funds.                  


Step 6 – Moving Into Your New Home

You will be provided with the property keys and will be given copies of the gas certificate, EPC and tenancy agreement once signed by the landlord. In addition we will forward you details of the property consultant who will be able to assist with any queries if your property is manage.  You are now able to move in and enjoy your new home!

We understand there may be so many questions going around in your head, hence we have put together some of the most asked questions below:

What happens if I am interested in a flat but see there are some issues I would like fixed prior to me moving in?

When viewing and you notice anything you are not happy with discuss them with the lettings team and also email us to highlight everything in writing so everything is clear before you go forward. This is vital in order to ensure all your requests are met and in addition once you’re agreement is confirmed any additional requests may not be granted.  

What is the time period to receive my security deposit back once my tenancy ends?

Providing you have met all requirements at the end of your tenancy including conformation of closing bills, we will then release your deposit within 5 working days.

What happens if I didn’t mention vital information when mutually agreeing with the landlord?

It is important that every little detail is discussed with the landlord prior to you moving in so you both have a good understanding with what you want and what you will achieve so you can make a clear judgment and do not rush into decisions that may affect you after.

What do I do if I’m not happy in the property no more?

All information regarding this will be stated in the contract however if you are no longer happy and still have time until your tenancy ends then please inform us or the landlord of the reasons as to why you aren’t happy. If this is something we can assist with we will do our best to resolve the situation. In the event you still aren’t happy you will need to provide 2 months’ notice in writing and adhere to any clauses in the contract.

I want to decorate the property can I do this once I have moved in?

Any decorating or request in general are to be verified and approved by the landlord beforehand, generally landlords are happy that you want to maintain or better the property and have no problem at all for you doing a good gesture.

What happens if I pay my rent late?

All information regarding late payments will be stated in your contract however you will incur a late fee charge of 4% of the monthly rental amount, therefore it is vital to set up a standing order to prevent any charges and negative reference logged on your file.
